Hello
I have received the following from my MP, in his newsletter, which I am now passing onto you.
Rob (Wilson) issues rogue trader warning.
I have been warning constituents to be on their guard against unscrupulous traders who are selling mobility aids on the doorstep.
Mobility aids, such as mobility scooters, walk-in baths and wheelchairs are often sold to vulnerable people in their home. I believe that mobility aids are vital products for elderly and disabled people, which can significantly improve the quality of their lives. I am raising awareness of this issue to support the campaign recently launched by the Office of Fair Trading (OFT). The campaign aims to make consumers more aware of the risks of doorstep sellers and the tricks that they use to get people to agree to buy their products, which are often available for cheaper prices elsewhere.
The OFT recommends consumers not to make snap decisions when purchasing these products. Consumers are advised to shop around and if they do invite a trader into their home, they should consider having a friend or relative present.

If you are on housing benefit, and are concerned about the cuts, this will interest you.
