Latest news re covid 19 vaccine rollout.

 Hello

I have received the following from my MP.

Dear Miriam,

Thank you for your email to Matt about the coronavirus vaccine roll-out.

This is the latest information that Matt has received from the Berkshire West Clinical Commissioning Group:

"This is the largest mass vaccination programme in the history of the NHS and since its launch in Berkshire West in December the roll out has gone very well. Anyone who is registered with a local GP will be contacted and offered an appointment

For most people they will receive a letter either from their GP or the national booking system, this will include all the information they need, including their NHS number. Some services are also phoning and texting patients to book appointments.

Please be assured that people in the priority groups who haven’t yet been booked into an appointment have not been forgotten. Some vaccination sites were up and running before others and the roll out of the programme depends on the deliveries of the vaccines. But everyone who is entitled to a vaccination will be offered one very shortly.

To ease pressure on local surgeries, people are being asked not to ring their GP.

And once people have been vaccinated they are reminded that they still need to adhere to the social distancing, hands, face and space rules."

The following information has been published on the CCG’s website:

Matt has had discussions with local NHS managers and public health officials and my understanding is that we are in line with national targets in Reading and Woodley.

This only covers the area I live in, but you get the drift, I hope it helps.

Miriam
