Do you receive Disability Living Allowance?
Hello
Have you applied for disability living allowance, and receive it, or been turned down?
If you have been turned down, and feel that you are bad enough to receive it, keep appealing.You may need some help, filling in the lengthy form, you can ask a friend, there are benefit services available free of charge, all you need to do is find them. Action for ME, provides a service, and I am sure there are more besides.
Type into a search engines what you are after and where, and see what it comes up with.
Now for those, that do receive the benefit, well done, but did you look at the small print?
There are 21 other benefits you can claim as well, obviously you wont be able to get all of them, they are given, so that they cover everyone!
Here is a list of other benefits you can check out, just put the benefit into a search engine, to find out more about it, then go from there.
You can still work, and receive disability living allowance and other benefits too.
Anyway, here is the list in the small print:
Carer’s allowance
Carer’s credit
Employment and support allowance
Income support
Job seekers allowance
Pension credit
Child tax credit
Working tax credit
Incapacity benefit
Motability
Free road tax
Blue badge
The family fund, helping severely disabled children
The independent living fund
Council tax benefit
Housing benefit
NHS costs
Help with social fund
Disabled persons rail card
Legal aid and legal advice
Home energy efficiency scheme
Some are means tested, some aren't, I hope it help you to claim, what is yours.

Want to reduce your water rates?
Hello
I, like many others, have received their water rates bill recently, and with it came a leaflet, in the small print, it detailed, how you can get money off your water rates, if you on certain benefits, if you are not on these benefits and know someone who is, feel free to pass this information on, it is also self explanatory on the website.

Most people who have ME are on benefits, I hope this site, helps to reduce one bill at least.

Hello
A few weeks ago, there was an item on 'Politics Show' whereby people on the IOW, were being given around £300.00 a week, care money for carers helps, or any other services they needed.
So I contacted my local Social Services to find out more:
The following is their response, I hope it helps some people:
Each individual needs to contact their own Social Services, they will need to confirm their address and other personal details; date of birth , General Practitioner, NOK etc.
They can request an assessment of need under the NHS and Community Care Act 1990. Resulting from this assessment if you have eligible needs as described in the Department of Health Circular "Fairer Access to Care Services" which can be found on the DOH web site. Your borough council will only provide "services, including direct payments or a personal budget" to meet "Critical Needs" under "Fairer Access to Care Services". I must mention that all services provided by Community Care are subject to a financial assessment and a contribution based upon income and savings, investments etc will be part of the overall assessment process.
