Hello
First of all, sooner or later, we are all going onto ESA, so I have been researching it, I hope the information I give you helps.
I have done several posts on this, you can look through my blog, to find the others.
For today, I am talking about the first part.
Once you have sent the form off, within 13 weeks, you will receive a letter back, it is very generic, hard to understand, and does not really tell you much!
If you receive a letter saying that you are going into the 'work related group' don't panic, we all are!
Please see here for more details.
Unless you are pregnant, or have a terminal illness, this is what happens, the next stage is to be sent a letter detailing when your assessment is going to be, this gives you the opportunity to show what you can and cannot do, if you are on disability living allowance, be sure, to show them a copy of the letter detailing this, it will work in your favour.
Action4me, have kindly put together an easy to read guide, is it very helpful, be sure to read it.
Once you have had the assessment they will then decide, if you need to have the practical medical as well, after doing all this, they will then decide whether you go into the support group, or the work group.
I would recommend that when you have the assessment, you have someone with you, who knows what you are like, on a day to day basis, it all helps.
I hope this has helped you.
Now for something totally different.
Energy prices
We all have to face them, we all dread them, but there are services, that help people like you and I to pay for them. I hope you find both of these useful.
Decc Gov UK
Warm home discount.
I hope the information helps you, and feel free to use the comments section to share your experiences.

Action for ME has had a facelist
Hello
As many of you will know, Action for ME, is an excellent, orgnisation, that support people who have ME, however it is now 'new improved', to check it out, please click here.
I was watching the Andrew Marr show this morning, and they were talking about energy prices, he was interviewing an MP, I can't remember which one, and Andrew asked how vunerable people are meant to cope with the energy price hikes when they are struggling already financially, the MP said, that if you contact your energy provider, and explain your situation, the government has put a pot of millions by, that they can use, to help to pay for their energy bills.
I hope this helps.

Want to reduce your water rates?
Hello
I, like many others, have received their water rates bill recently, and with it came a leaflet, in the small print, it detailed, how you can get money off your water rates, if you on certain benefits, if you are not on these benefits and know someone who is, feel free to pass this information on, it is also self explanatory on the website.
Thames Water.
Most people who have ME are on benefits, I hope this site, helps to reduce one bill at least.

ME, what are your views?
Hello
I started this blog a week ago, and stopped, because I ran out of energy, and spent the best part of the week in bed!
Alot of news has come through this then, so I will do my best to tell you, before running out of energy this time!
If you are concerned, about the financial implications of the weather we have had recently, and the weather to come, Afme have put together some information, that will help you to cope, I hope it helps.
If you know, of someone, who is cut off from the world, and would value a computer with internet access, the government has put a plan together that is perfect for them, please click here for further details.
I have had an experience this week, that has completely changed my world!! OK that maybe an exaggeration! but I was told, by a certain governing body, that I could not receive a service, I got onto my MP, Mr Rob Wilson, and that decision has now been reversed, the lesson here is, short of you exchanging your body for another one, if you are told you cannot have something, that you feel you should have, say care services etc, get onto your MP, you vote for them, to work for you, so why not make the most of them. I often contact my MP, and he has done me proud, don't be afraid to write, email them, that is what they are there for.
Finally, this week we saw the beginning of the trial of Kay Gilderdale, this is an interesting case, she cared for her daughter who had severe pain, due to ME, for years, and she helped her to die, was it an act of compassion, or plain murder?
The trouble is, if she gets off scott free, it could allow others, to assist in helping vulnerable people die, but on the other hand, it was an act of compassion, to follow the story, please go here.
Phew I did it! Until next time.
